Field of Dreams

This mirrored room that shows us life
As a frail and growing thing,
This reflection seen when looked at
Disappears when turned away.
Old letters brought from dust,
Words recreated from crumbling paper,
Remind one of a far-gone time,
A memory upon a faded tapestry
That until today had been locked away
With the key thrown deep into the well.
The water dried up, the key found in the dirt
And used to unlock the (treasure) chest.
The moths have eaten holes in the design,
Only knots remain to be seen and admired.
This isn't worth admiration or remembering...
It serves only as a blanket or covering for animals.
Worthless, like the time it was....except for escape.
Another's chest open up and daggers shoot from it
Into my heart and tears fall from the stabbing pain
As blood flows out as readily as the tears.
Words said to one are said to all.
In time, nothing is first, nothing is sacred,
Nothing is forever, and no one is the only one for anyone.
Everyone is someone for everyone else.
The phoenix rises again from the ashes of yesterday.
The sight kills the heart and chills the mind
Into a frozen wasteland of lost hope and desire.
The choice must be made....
Disillusionment shattered by an open box
And distant words now revealed once again.
The perfect dream has turned to grey
In a nightmare of pain and loss.
I am alone...abandoned by my own heart,
Struck with shattered glass
From the shards of a mirror of the Snow Queen.
Slowly I turn to ice...only true friendship,
Only love that is pure and untaken by another,
Only complete surrender for all time...
This is what it takes for blood to flow and breath to exist.
Only if it's the first time and will be the only time,
Can you melt the ice and bring me to life again.
